Help Plant the Camp Garden

Yes, this is actual produce from last year's Camp Garden!
We have a vegetable garden at our Cub Scout Camp, and it exists for one reason; to teach Cub Scouts and their parents about gardening and growing food. Volunteers are needed to assist by helping plant and tend the garden.  We are currently planning to have group work days in the garden on Sunday afternoons starting on April 6, from 1 PM to 5 PM.  We are inviting Scouts and Parents to participate in these work days.

The Scout Camp Garden is at Cub Adventure Camp in Goochland County.  The address is 1723 Maidens Road, Maidens, VA 23102.  We’re one mile from Goochland Courthouse.  The garden is next to our Nature Center, with water access and bathrooms close by.  The garden was planted for the first time in 2013.  This summer, roughly 1,300 Cub Scouts and parents will attend Adventure Camp, and all of them will have a chance to experience our camp garden.  If you can help out with the garden on April 6, email bill.givler@scouting.org and let us know who is coming.
